VF-33 Fighter Squadron was originally established on 6 August 1942 and disestablished on 1 October 1993. This squadron flew eight different airframes throughout the course of the squadron career the final airframe being the famous F-14B Tomcat. Saw action in WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, and Operation Desert Storm. Nickname - "STARFIGHTERS"
