Description

United States Central Command owns the Area of Responsibility that defined American military operations for the past quarter century, and this patch—a bald eagle clutching a US shield over a map of the Middle East and Central Asia—captures the scope of that mission in a single design. The green outer ring and red inner ring frame the eagle and map cleanly. "UNITED STATES / CENTRAL COMMAND" runs in bold lettering around the border. Every servicemember who deployed to OEF, OIF, or any of the dozens of other operations in the CENTCOM AOR served under this command.

CENTCOM's AOR stretches from Egypt to Pakistan, covering 21 countries across the Middle East, North Africa, and Central and South Asia. From Desert Shield and Desert Storm through the GWOT decades and beyond, CENTCOM has run the largest sustained American military operations since Vietnam. The eagle over the map is not an abstraction—it's a geographic reality for the hundreds of thousands of veterans who served in that theater.

If you deployed to Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the UAE, or any other country in the CENTCOM AOR, this patch represents the command structure you operated under. It's a cornerstone piece for any collection focused on GWOT history, Middle East deployments, or combatant command insignia.

The eagle and map embroidery are well executed, with clear geographic definition in the map detail. The green and red ring color combination is distinctive and holds up well in display. The lettering is clean and the overall construction is solid.

Popular Patch carries patches from CENTCOM, its component commands, and from units across the full GWOT theater. If you're building a collection that covers your deployments and the commands that ran them, browse the full catalog.
