Description

VP-8 was the first patrol squadron (in August 1962) to transition from the P-2 to the P-3. In 1981, it was the last Brunswick squadron to replace the older P-3B with the newer P-3C UII.
VP-8?s roots can be traced back to Patrol Squadron 201(VP-201), which is said to have been established at Naval Air Station Brunswick on September 1, 1942.
