Description
USS Pocono was an Adirondack class amphibious force command ship commissioned on 29 December 1945 and decommissioned in 1949 only to be recommissioned in 1951 to serve as command ship amphibious forces in the Caribbean and the Atlantic and served in the Atlantic theater until decommissioning in 1971.
