Description
USS Mount Venon was an Anchorage class dock landing ship commissioned in 1972 and participated in Operation Frequent Wind the evacuation of Saigon, Vietnam in April 1975. She was decommissioned on 25 July 2003, however in 2005 she was given one more assignment as the control ship during the clean up of Exxon Valdez disaster. Motto - "EXITUS ACTA PROBAT" - "OUTCOME PROVES"
