Description

The USS Austin was a United States Navy amphibious transport dock ship, commissioned from 1965-2006. She has served valiantly though-out many conflicts and operations while in service. Including but not limited to Operation Springboard, Northern Wedding and support of operations in Beirut, Lebanon, Kosovo, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Austin's motto is very fitting, stating in latin, Potestas Maritima per Mobilitate, which translates "Seapower through Mobility".
