The Navy Recruit Training Command Center at Orlando, Florida was commissioned in July of 1968. The command was the last of three recruit training center's to be put into use by the Navy. From 1972 to 1994 it was the only Navy boot camp for women. When the training command center was closed in November of 1994, more than 650,000 recruits had graduated through the facility.
