Description
The Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan was the command that ran special operations in the OEF theater for years, and this patch is what the men assigned to it wore as they coordinated direct action, foreign internal defense, and unconventional warfare across the country. The circular design wraps a map of Afghanistan in the national flag's colors—black, red, and green—with SF crossed arrows and Military Free Fall wings at center. Black and gold border framing. This is a command-level patch that doesn't show up in general circulation.
CJSOTF-A had authority over all SOF elements in Afghanistan at various points during OEF, integrating Army Special Forces, SEALs, Rangers, Air Force Special Operations, MARSOC, and coalition SOF into a coherent operational structure. The work ranged from village stability operations in remote provinces to precision strike packages against high-value targets. If you worked at the CJSOTF level, you had visibility across all of it.
If you served with CJSOTF-A—on the staff, attached from a subordinate unit, or in a liaison role—this patch marks a specific and significant chapter of the Afghanistan campaign. It's also a cornerstone piece for any collection focused on OEF, the SOF command structure, or Afghanistan campaign insignia.
The Afghan map detail, crossed arrows, and MFF wings are all clearly defined in the embroidery. The black and gold color scheme is clean and the overall construction is solid. This is a display-quality patch that represents a real command and a real mission.
