This is an embroidered patch with iron on backing. The original patch was approved in 1955. The blue field of the shield, together with the golden yellow of the lightning bolt, depicts the Air Force colors. The lightning bolt represents the weapons potential. Our fighting spirit and tenacity are symbolized by the fierce tiger.
The 23rd Fighter Group is a United States Air Force unit assigned to the 23rd Wing and stationed at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia.
