Description

The 38th Rescue Squadron patch gives you the whole mission in one image — a parachutist coming down through a globe, with the motto "Strength and Honor" waiting at the bottom. Circular, with a blue and teal gridded globe as the primary field, the patch carries a silver winged parachutist descending at center. Maroon scrolls arc top and bottom, gold lettering reading "38TH RESCUE SQ" and "STRENGTH AND HONOR." The gold grid lines wrap the globe in the clean geometry of the Air Rescue Service tradition.

The 38th Rescue Squadron operates at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia, flying the HH-60G Pave Hawk in the Combat Search and Rescue mission. Moody is a hub for the Air Force's tactical rescue community, and the 38th is one of the units that keeps it sharp. Their crews train for the full spectrum of rescue environments — overland, maritime, day, night, and degraded conditions that most people would consider unworkable.

The patch is circular with a blue-to-teal gridded globe that fills most of the face, framed by a gold border. The silver winged parachutist at center is the traditional descent-rescue symbol, rendered with good detail. The maroon scrolls in gold text bookend the design at top and bottom, with consistent stitch quality throughout.

For 38th RQS veterans, Moody AFB alumni, or CSAR collectors focused on the southeast rescue community, this patch is a specific marker. Strength and honor isn't just a motto — for crews doing nighttime low-level over denied terrain in a 60, it's a description of what the job actually requires.

Moody's rescue community is active, capable, and ready. This patch represents their piece of that mission.
