Description

The 467th Bomb Group flew B-24 Liberators from English bases in 1944-45, carrying the air war to German targets when it mattered most. Part of the 2nd Air Division (8th Air Force), the 467th deployed to Rackheath in Norfolk and flew deep penetration missions. The patch represents a tactical bomb group that understood the cost of daylight bombing and flew anyway.

The 467th Bombardment Group activated in 1943 and deployed to Europe in 1944 just as the air campaign was shifting toward strategic targets in preparation for invasion. Their B-24s carried the heaviest bomb loads against German aircraft production, fuel facilities, and transportation infrastructure. Sixty-seven aircraft lost from the group—each one represents a crew that didn't make it back.

The patch carries the insignia and colors of the 2nd Air Division heritage. The design reflects the tactical bomb group tradition—straightforward, dignified, marked with unit lineage that any bomber crew would recognize.

If you flew with the 467th or knew someone who did: this patch honors the crews who turned Rackheath into a constant operational base and brought the war to Germany's doorstep in 1944-45. Not all of them came home. That's what the patch remembers.

PopularPatch carries the tactical bomb group patches from the 2nd Air Division—the crews who defined American precision bombing in Europe.
