United States Naval Advisory Group Vietnam Military Patch - U.S. Navy advisors were instrumental in transforming the Vietnam Navy from a few landing craft and minesweepers to the world's fifth largest navy. A large modern day service of 42,000 sailors and 1,500 surface vessels capable of fighting on the rivers of Vietnam and far out to sea. In 1968 the American naval advisory group reached its largest numbers consisting of 534 men. - Gray and yellow background with seven stars across the top and two crossed yellow anchors in the center.
